Richard Emond Obituary

NORTHWOOD- Richard M. Emond, of Northwood, passed away suddenly on November 30, 2021 due to complications of COVID-19. He was 55 years old.

Rick was a resident of Northwood his entire life and graduated from Coe Brown Northwood Academy in 1984.  He worked for his father’s business, Weather Guard, for many years. After positions at several other local companies, including Harding Metals, Rick started his own business in 2001. He has grown East Coast Container Services from a one-man, one-truck operation to the successful entity it is today. He took great pride and joy in having the cleanest trucks on the road and providing the best customer service.

Rick was an avid hunter, although most who knew him would say “avid” isn’t a strong enough word. From summertime scouting, the beginning of archery season, muzzle loader, rifle, he was in the woods as much as he possibly could be. The time spent bear hunting with Sam and Shawn was what he treasured the most. They spent countless hours in preparation for the hunt, and enjoyed many hard-earned victories. Regardless of the outcome of the hunt, they were precious hours spent together and lifelong memories were made. Sam will be forever grateful for those hours and all he taught her, and will always have him with her in spirit, making him proud.

Words cannot express how much this man will be missed by his family, his friends, and the community. He was taken from us far too soon.

Rick was predeceased by his mother, Bonnie Emond in March of this year.

He leaves behind his cherished daughter, Samantha Emond of Barnstead.  He also leaves his longtime companion Becky Quackenbush of Northwood, his father Richard Emond of Northwood; his brother Shawn Emond of Canterbury; his aunts Claire Emond, Louise Clark, and Carole Trainor; Doreen Colpritt, his former wife and mother of Samantha; several cousins and countless friends.
