CONTOOCOOK- Mr. Paul F. Carey, Jr., 55, of Contoocook, passed away at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center after a period of declining health.
Born in Stoughton, MA, Paul was the son of Paul F., Sr. and Arleen V. (Yakavonis) Carey of Epsom. He was raised in Stoughton before moving to New Hampshire at the age of 19.
For the past 15 years, Paul was employed at Petco. He was a member of the New Hampshire Fish & Game and was very involved in the Hunter Education program.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and had a great talent for archery. He enjoyed camping and going to flea markets and was an avid Red Sox fan. Paul was a loving, kind and compassionate man who was very much loved by everyone. He loved animals and children and they loved him back. He always had a smile on his face and enjoyed joking around.
In addition to his parents, Paul is survived by his brother, housemate and caretaker of 25 years, John Carey of Contoocook; his two sisters, Virginia Ladd of Gilmanton Ironworks and Vicky Lee Glover of Monroe, LA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Walk-Through Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 8th from 12 to 2 P.M. in the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom. All attendees are asked to wear face-coverings and observe social distancing as directed.
