Mrs. Gale I (Lucia) Preston

DEERFIELD- Mrs. Gale I. (Lucia) Preston, 65, of Deerfield, passed away on March 6, 2023 at the Elliot Hospital after a period of declining health.

Born in Littleton, NH, Gale was the daughter of the late Robert and Priscilla (Bryant) Lucia.  She was raised and educated in both Littleton and Wakefield, MA and had been a resident of Deerfield since 1996.

In earlier years, Gale ran a small housecleaning business before remaining home to raise her children.  She was very involved in their school activities throughout the years.

She enjoyed traveling to the seacoast and was extremely social.  She knew many people and was always the first to offer a helping hand.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers: Skip, Bucky and Cheyenne Lucia.

Gale is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years, Leo J. Preston; her two children: Devin Preston and his companion Jenna Cempellin of Barnstead and Bethany Young and her husband Joshua of Deerfield; her granddaughter, Makenzie Young; her sister-in-law, Sheila Lucia as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 6pm at the Grace Capital Church, 542 Pembroke St. Pembroke, NH.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Gale’s memory may be sent to the Grace Capital Church.  Assisting the family with arrangements is The Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel of Epsom.  To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.roanfamilyfuneral.com.
