Gerard Rondeau Obituary

ALLENSTOWN- Mr. Gerard P. Rondeau, 92, of Allenstown, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 18, 2021 after a period of declining health.

Born in Allenstown, he was the son of the late Philip and Dora (Lauzier) Rondeau.  He resided in Allenstown his entire life.  Gerard enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict.  He was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1952.  He transferred to the Army National Guard of New Hampshire, where he continued to serve for over 31 years.

Prior to his retirement, Gerard was employed as a contractor for many local home builders in Pembroke and Allenstown.  He also aided in the building of the Budweiser Plant in Merrimack. He later worked for Pembroke Boats and the B & M Railroad from which he retired.  He was a member of the American Legion Post 25 in Lake Placid, FL, where he wintered and was a member-at-large of the VFW.

Gerard enjoyed woodworking and creating wood crafts, reading, dancing, building scale train sets and taking cruises with his wife.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Bayada Hospice Care for their care and attention, especially in the last few days.

He was predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Palmire E. (Prive) Rondeau, his son, Raymond Rondeau and his brother, Normand Rondeau.

He is survived by his children: Diane Robertson and her husband Michael of Silver Springs, FL, Susan Perron and her husband Michael of Allenstown, Jeanne Fleming and her husband Bryan of Longwood, FL, Armand Rondeau and his wife Janice of Pembroke, Victor Rondeau and his wife Donna of Epsom, Rene Rondeau and his wife Tracy of Epsom and Leo Rondeau and his wife Ann of Clarksville; his daughter-in-law, Irene Rondeau of Concord; his sister, Pauline Demers of Allenstown; his sister-in-law, Palma Reardon of Epsom, 19 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Calling Hours will be held on Monday, November 29th from 5 to 7 P.M. in the Petit-Roan Funeral Home 167 Main St. in Pembroke.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 30th at 10 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Church in Allenstown.  Burial with military honors will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerard’s memory may be sent to the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway Boscawen, NH 03303 or St. John the Baptist Roof Fund, 10 School St. Allenstown, NH 03275.  To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.petitroan.com
