Frederick "Fred" Leighton

PEMBROKE – Frederick F. “Fred” Leighton, 63, of Pembroke, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at his residence following a brief battle with liver cancer.

Born on December 20, 1956 in Milford, MA; he was the son of the late Frederick and Lois (Glidden) Leighton.

Fred worked many years for the State of New Hampshire Highway Department until his retirement. He was a handy man who enjoyed doing construction and was in the process of rebuilding his own home which had burned down last year. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, traveling and reading.

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Wendy (Tuttle) Leighton in 2018 as well as brother, Jerome “Jerry” Leighton.

He is survived by his brother, Duane Leighton, Franklin Leighton and Russell Leighton and his wife Irene of Newport, ME as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 14th at 2:00pm at Martins Ferry Cemetery in Hooksett. The Petit-Roan Funeral Home in Pembroke is assisting the family with arrangements. To share a memory or offer a condolence please visit www.petitroan.com
