EPSOM- Mrs. Beulah G. (Thorpe) Yeaton, 92, of Epsom, passed away at the Epsom Healthcare Center on May 16, 2023 after a period of declining health.
Born in Concord, Beulah was the daughter of the late Howard A. Thorpe, Sr. and Florence (Hill) Shaw. She was raised and educated in Pittsfield and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
In earlier years, she worked as a dental assistant before staying home and raising her family. Beulah was devoted to her children, shuttling them to their many activities.
Long active in community affairs, Beulah was a member of the American Legion Post #112 and the Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as President for 3 years. She was also involved with the 4-H as well as the Epsom/Chichester Girl’s Club. She was proud to be one of the first Library Trustees for the Town of Epsom and was also named Epsom Citizen of the Year in 1985.
Beulah savored the outdoors and took great pride in her yard. She enjoyed gardening and her never-ending yardwork.
She was predeceased by her first husband, John Grierson, who was killed in action during the Korean Conflict; her second husband, Robert S. Yeaton; her son, John E. Grierson; and her brother, James Thorpe.
Beulah is survived by her two sons: R. Stewart Yeaton and his wife Karen and William H. Yeaton and his wife Cerina all of Epsom; and her brother, Howard Thorpe, Jr. She is also survived by her many beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21st from 11 A.M. to 2 P.M. in The Roan Family Funeral Home – Still Oaks Chapel, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom. Burial will take place privately with the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Beulah’s memory may be sent to the Friends of the Epsom Public Library, 1606 Dover Rd. Epsom, NH 03234.
