Sylvia McDonald, 79, of Allenstown, passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born on April 5, 1938 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Ethel (Corsini) Cannata.
Sylvia worked for many years as a Welcome Attendant at the Welcome Center in Salem, NH until her retirement. Sylvia enjoyed knitting, gambling, shopping, dining out and traveling, especially to the beach. Above all, Sylvia enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Besides her parents, Sylvia was predeceased by a brother, Daniel Cannata and a grandson Jacob McDonald.
She is survived by her children, Thomas Hopkins and his fiancé Jill Prince of Londonderry, Jeanne Hills and her husband Robert of Allenstown, Elaine Nelson and her husband David of Deerfield, Linda
Grindley and her husband John of W. Virginia, Diane Hopkins and her fiancé Alan Rheaume of Manchester, William McDonald, Jr and his wife Amber of Bow, Wendi Lambert and her husband Robert of Pembroke, Miranda Renaud of Derry; siblings, Frank Cannata and his wife Ruth of Foxborough, Leo Cannata and his wife Judy of Attleboro, Ethel Huntley and her significant other George Klein of Norton, MA and Barbara Edler and her husband Bob of NY; grandchildren, Crystal, Bobbie, Jessica, Melanie, Alexander, Reanna, Adam, Stephanie, Samantha, Hannah, Jada, Jaxon, Logan, Trevor, Ty and
Savannah; great grandchildren, Kyle, Emelia, Alayssia, Austin, Ava, Nora, and Lillian as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Sylvia’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 17th from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M. with a brief service at 12 Noon in the Still Oaks Funeral and Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom. To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.stilloaks.com
