Roger Thibeault Obituary

ALLENSTOWN – Roger D. Thibeault, 88, of Allenstown, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the CRVNA Hospice House in Concord with his wife by his side.

Born on October 22, 1929 in Concord, he was the son of the late Donat and Annie (Vander Hagen) Thibeault.

Roger was educated in the local schools and went on to service his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion. Upon returning from the military, Roger joined the Laborers Local Union #668 his career in the construction industry spanned over 30 years, with the majority of his tenure at including Harvey Construction.

Roger’s hobbies varied over the years but his love for fishing was a constant. His attraction to and knowledge of Lake Winnipesaukee was undeniable. He intimately knew every inch of that lake….ever cove, the depth at any location (without the use of modern technology!), and where the salmon were “hiding, because salmon are smart.”

Roger and Noella traveled in their retirement years. Many winters were spent in Mission Viejo, CA. He so enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Lindsay. He fished daily on Lake Mission Viejo. They also enjoyed cruising, visiting the Caribbean and Alaksa. Roger said fishing for king salmon in Alaska was “A trip of a lifetime.”

Roger is survived by his wife Noella (Gelinas) Thibeault, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage; his daughter, Susan and her husband Glenn Forbes of Mission Viejo, CA; brothers, Richard Thibeault of Suncook and Robert Thibeault of Manchester; granddaughter, Lindsay Forbes of San Francisco, CA as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
