Unlike many funeral homes that are now owned by large corporations, Roan Family Funeral Homes are not governed by corporate mandates or driven to increase profits. Our success depends on the services we provide, the expertise we offer and the compassion we share.

     You may not realize, but several funeral homes throughout the New England area are not locally owned. Some are operated by the largest funeral/cremation conglomerate chain in the world. Over the past several years, these conglomerates swept through New England quietly buying as many firms as they could. Below are some of the facts behind these giant corporations:

• The funeral homes they purchase retain the original names you have grown to know and trust.
• They are both private and publicly traded companies responsible to the shareholders to increase profits each year. Increased profits come from higher prices and cutting costs.

     When a family suffers the loss of a loved one, it can be comforting to know your funeral director. We take every opportunity to be involved in our community, and to create the kind of personal relationships that will allow us to provide the individualized, sensitive service your family deserves.

     We have a fine appreciation of local customs and expectations. On the other hand, the staff and management assigned to a funeral home by a national company may be from another state or even country. And that can create a lack of awareness and sometimes disappointment when expectations are not met.

     Just as you do, we turn to our neighbors for services and products. Whenever possible, we choose to do business with other family-owned and operated businesses. We also try to support all of our local charities, schools, sports, and other community efforts.

     Our family has served the Suncook and surrounding areas for nearly 90 years and is proud to remain family-owned. We offer the level of compassionate care that only a family can provide. We are accountable to you and your family–not to stockholders & investors.
