Rudolph A. "Rudy" Lafond

HOOKSETT- Mr. Rudolph A. “Rudy” LaFond, 87, of Hooksett, died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 surrounded by his loving family after a long illness.

Born in Lynn, MA, Rudy was the son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Faust) LaFond.  He was raised and educated in Lynn before moving to New Hampshire in 1958.  He was drafted in the United States Army and proudly served his country, before returning to marry the love of his life. He later became a member of the American Legion Post #37 in Hooksett.

Prior to his retirement, Rudy was the owner and operator of the Park Street Barber Shop in Concord and Rudy’s Barber Shop out of his home in Hooksett for many years.

Rudy enjoyed his family, often trading jokes and insights with his loved ones. His smile was genuine and his laugh was contagious. His independent spirit was tempered only by the devotion to his wife.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Lillian (Jameson) LaFond, and their children, Richard LaFond and his wife Elsa of Merrimack, Steven LaFond and his wife Dawn of Atkinson and Laurel Manning of Hooksett.  He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, December 9th from 4 to 7 P.M. in the Petit-Roan Funeral Home 167 Main St. in Pembroke.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 1:30PM in Holy Rosary Church in Hooksett.  Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
