Melanie H. Newton, 47, of Center Barnstead, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at her residence, surrounded by her family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on December 23, 1970 in Manchester, she was the daughter of the late Burton A. and Lena A. (Caron) Green.
Melanie worked for over 19 years for the Pittsfield Elementary School as a Program Specialist. She had a passion for kids and it showed through her work over the years. Spending time with family, traveling to the beach, driving up the Kancamagus to see the leaves changing color, or enjoying the sight of the fresh fallen snow on the trees; Melanie never took these things for granted.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Newton of Center Barnstead with whom she shared over 30 years, her son, Cody Newton of Center Barnstead, her daughter, Amanda Newton of Center Barnstead; siblings, Dan Green and his wife Jean Winfrey of Canterbury, David Green and his wife Betty Jo of Loudon, Mark Green of Pittsfield, Dawn Green of Northwood and Scott Day and his wife Melissa of Manchester, mother-in-law, Linda (Divenuti) Rousseau of Concord as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Melanie’s Life will be held on Friday April 6th from 4 to 8 P.M. with a brief service at 7:30 P.M. in the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom. To share a memory or offer a condolence, please visit www.stilloaks.com
