HOOKSETT, NH- Mr. Daniel M. Reid, Sr., 71, of Hooksett, passed away in his home surrounded by his loving family after a period of declining health.
Born in Kokomo, Indiana, he was the son of the late Harry and Margaret Reid. He was raised and educated in Indiana and resided there for his entire life before moving to Hooksett last year. He enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a custodian for the Marion Community Schools in Indiana.
Daniel was a kind and thoughtful man, who touched the lives of everyone he met. He loved his family. He enjoyed watching IU Basketball, football, and the Hallmark Channel. He also enjoyed doing his crossword puzzles and playing with the family cat, Rocky.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife and soulmate, Georgia (Myers) Reid, who passed away last year and his grandson, Matt Maylone.
He is survived by his children, Peggy Maylone, Gary Reid, Fred Reid and Daniel Reid, Jr. He was the grandfather to Eric Huey, Cassie Bowley, Jonathan Reid, Frederick Reid, Jr., Alaina Knightly, Gabrielle Knightly, Jadelyn Reid and Tyler Maylone. He was the great grandfather to Kyland, Rylan and Ayden. He is also survived by his brother Robert “Butch” Reid.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services at this time. Assisting the family with arrangements is the Petit-Roan Funeral Home in Pembroke.
